Cookie Policy
COOKIE POLICY
This Cookie Policy explains how Aimee Victoria Long and her associated entities use cookies and similar technologies on www.aimeevictorialong.co.uk. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy and Website Terms of Use.
1. Introduction
This Cookie Policy applies to the website www.aimeevictorialong.co.uk (the 'Site'), operated by Aimee Victoria Long trading through AVL Group Holdings LTD and all AVL subsidiaries, and OMNI Wellness Group Limited (collectively 'we', 'us', or 'AVL').
When you visit our Site, we may place small data files called cookies, and use similar tracking technologies, on your device. These technologies help the Site to function properly, allow us to analyse how the Site is used, and enable us to deliver relevant content and, where you have consented, targeted advertising.
We are committed to transparency about our use of cookies and to obtaining your valid consent where required by the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR) and the UK GDPR.
You have the right to accept or refuse non-essential cookies via our cookie consent banner when you first visit the Site, and to change your preferences at any time as described in Section 5.
This policy explains what cookies are, what types of cookies we use, who places them, how long they last, and how you can control them.
2. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files that are placed on your computer, smartphone, tablet, or other internet-enabled device ('device') when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work or to work more efficiently, to provide website operators with information, and to enable certain website features and functionality.
Cookies are stored by your web browser. When you return to the same website, the browser sends back the cookie, which allows the website to recognise your device and remember certain information about your preferences or previous actions.
Session Cookies vs. Persistent Cookies
Session cookies are temporary cookies that are stored only for the duration of your visit to the Site and are automatically deleted when you close your browser. Persistent cookies remain stored on your device for a defined period (which varies depending on the specific cookie) or until you manually delete them.
First-Party Cookies vs. Third-Party Cookies
First-party cookies are set directly by AVL (i.e. by our website). Third-party cookies are set by a domain other than the one you are visiting — for example, by an analytics or advertising service whose code is embedded on our Site. Third-party organisations may use their own cookies to collect information about your online activities across different websites over time.
Similar Technologies
In addition to cookies, we may also use similar tracking technologies such as web beacons (also known as pixel tags or clear GIFs), local storage, and session storage. References to 'cookies' in this policy should be read as including these similar technologies where the context permits.
3. Types of Cookies We Use
The table below sets out the categories of cookies used on our Site, their purpose, examples, typical duration, and the legal basis under which they are used.
| Cookie Type | Purpose | Examples | Duration | Legal Basis |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Strictly Necessary | Essential for the Site to operate. Enable core functions such as page navigation, secure access to restricted areas, load balancing, and security features. The Site cannot function properly without these cookies. | Session management cookies; security tokens; load-balancing cookies; CSRF protection tokens. | Session / up to 24 hours | Legitimate interests / legal obligation — consent not required (PECR Reg. 6(4) exemption) |
| Functional / Preference | Allow the Site to remember choices you make (such as your preferred language, region, or previously entered form data) to provide a more personalised experience. | Language preference cookies; form auto-fill cookies; user interface preference settings. | Up to 12 months | Consent — required under PECR |
| Analytics / Performance | Used to understand how visitors interact with the Site — for example, which pages are most visited, how long visitors stay, and where they come from. Data collected is aggregated and anonymised (including IP anonymisation) and does not identify individual users. Helps us improve the Site's performance and user experience. | Google Analytics (_ga, _gid, _gat): measures traffic and user behaviour. Google Analytics anonymises IP addresses before processing. | Up to 26 months (_ga); session (_gid); 1 minute (_gat) | Consent — required under PECR |
| Marketing / Targeting | Placed by us and our advertising partners to build a profile of your interests based on your browsing activity and to deliver advertisements that are more relevant to you, both on our Site and on third-party websites. They also enable us to measure the effectiveness of our marketing campaigns. | Meta Pixel (Facebook/Instagram): tracks Site visits and conversions to enable targeted ads on Facebook and Instagram. LinkedIn Insight Tag: tracks Site visits for LinkedIn Campaign Manager and conversion tracking. Social sharing buttons may also set cookies from the respective social platforms. | Up to 24 months (varies by platform) | Consent — required under PECR |
The above table is a summary. The specific cookies in use at any given time may change as we update our technology and services. A full, up-to-date list of all active cookies and their specific names, domains, and durations is available via our cookie consent management tool, accessible through the cookie banner on the Site
4. Third-Party Cookies
Some cookies on our Site are placed by third parties whose services we use. We do not control these cookies and they are subject to the privacy policies of the relevant third-party organisations. We set out below the key third-party cookie providers and relevant information about how to manage their cookies:
4.1 Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Ireland Limited ('Google'). Google Analytics uses cookies to collect information about how you use the Site, including your IP address (which is anonymised before storage), the pages you visit, how long you spend on each page, and the source of your visit. This information is transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States. Google will use this information on our behalf for the purpose of evaluating your use of the Site and compiling reports on Site activity. Google's use of this data is subject to Google's own privacy policy, available at: https://policies.google.com/privacy. You can opt out of Google Analytics across all websites by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, available at: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
4.2 Meta Pixel (Facebook / Instagram)
We use the Meta Pixel, a tracking technology provided by Meta Platforms Ireland Limited ('Meta'), on our Site. The Meta Pixel allows us to measure the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns on Facebook and Instagram by tracking your interactions with our Site after you have clicked on a Meta ad. It may also be used to build custom and lookalike audiences for future advertising. Information collected through the Meta Pixel is processed by Meta in accordance with Meta's Data Policy, available at: https://www.facebook.com/privacy/policy/. You can manage your Meta ad preferences through your Facebook account settings at: https://www.facebook.com/settings/?tab=ads.
4.3 LinkedIn Insight Tag
We use the LinkedIn Insight Tag, provided by LinkedIn Ireland Unlimited Company ('LinkedIn'), to enable in-depth campaign reporting and to help us learn more about our Site visitors in the context of our LinkedIn advertising campaigns. The LinkedIn Insight Tag collects data about your visit to our Site, including the URL, referrer URL, IP address, device and browser characteristics, timestamp, and page events. This data is encrypted and anonymised within seven days, and fully anonymised within 90 days. LinkedIn does not share personal data with AVL; it provides only aggregated reports about our website audience and ad performance. LinkedIn's privacy policy is available at: https://www.linkedin.com/legal/privacy-policy. You may opt out of LinkedIn tracking at: https://www.linkedin.com/psettings/guest-controls/retargeting-opt-out.
4.4 Social Media Platform Cookies
Our Site may contain social sharing buttons or embedded content from social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube. These platforms may set their own cookies when you interact with these features, regardless of whether you have an account with them. We recommend reviewing the cookie and privacy policies of each platform directly for information about how they use this data.
5. How to Manage Cookies
You have several options for managing cookies when you use our Site:
5.1 Cookie Consent Banner
When you first visit the Site, you will be presented with a cookie consent banner that allows you to accept all cookies, reject non-essential cookies, or customise your preferences by cookie category. You may update your preferences at any time by clicking the 'Manage Cookie Preferences' link, which will re-open the consent banner. Strictly necessary cookies cannot be refused as they are essential to the functioning of the Site.
5.2 Browser Settings
You can also control cookies through your web browser settings. Most browsers allow you to see what cookies have been set, block cookies, and delete existing cookies. Instructions for the most widely used browsers are available at the following addresses:
- Google Chrome: https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/95647
- Apple Safari: https://support.apple.com/guide/safari/manage-cookies-and-website-data-sfri11471
- Mozilla Firefox: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/enable-and-disable-cookies-website-preferences
- Microsoft Edge: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-edge/delete-cookies-in-microsoft-edge-63947406-40ac-c3b8-57b9-2a946a29ae09
Please note that blocking cookies through your browser settings may affect the functionality of this and other websites you visit.
5.3 Opt-Out Links for Third-Party Cookies
You may opt out of certain third-party cookies directly through the platforms that set them. Links to the relevant opt-out pages are set out in Section 4 above for Google Analytics, Meta/Facebook, and LinkedIn.
5.4 Withdrawal of Consent
You may withdraw your consent to our use of non-essential cookies at any time by re-opening the cookie consent banner and updating your preferences, or by contacting us at info@aimeevictorialong.co.uk. Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of any processing carried out prior to withdrawal.
6. Consequences of Disabling Cookies
You are free to refuse non-essential cookies; however, please be aware that doing so may affect your experience of our Site and limit certain functionality. In particular:
- Disabling strictly necessary cookies (where technically possible) will prevent the Site from functioning correctly and you may not be able to use core features such as contact forms or secure areas;
- Disabling functional/preference cookies may mean that the Site cannot remember your preferences across visits, resulting in a less personalised experience;
- Disabling analytics cookies will mean that we cannot collect aggregate data about how visitors use the Site, which we use to improve content and performance; and
- Disabling marketing/targeting cookies will mean that any advertisements we serve you, or that our partners serve on our behalf, will be less relevant to your interests.
Disabling third-party cookies will not prevent you from seeing advertisements; it will simply mean that the advertisements you see will be less relevant to you.
7. Updates to This Policy
We review and update this Cookie Policy periodically to reflect changes in our use of cookies, technological developments, and updates to applicable laws and regulations. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on our Site with a revised effective date, and, where appropriate, by presenting you with an updated cookie consent banner.
The date of the most recent update to this Cookie Policy is shown at the bottom of this document. We encourage you to review this policy from time to time to ensure you remain informed about how we use cookies.
